IWD Pitch Night Spotlight: The Seed Lodge

A couple of weeks ago, the BMCC held our inaugural International Women’s Day Pitch Night & Party, and it was an absolutely spectacular evening. A packed house of supporters, investors, mentors and fellow entrepreneurs came to hear six talented local women pitch their business ideas, and to cheer them on as they set out on their entrepreneurial journeys. To add to the fun, we kept our lineup of pitchers as a bit of a surprise for the event. Now it’s time to show them off, and we will be spotlighting these amazing women over the next few of weeks.
To kick things off, we’re thrilled to introduce The Seed Lodge, a wellness centre dedicated to nurturing mental, physical and emotional well-being through tranformative therapeutic programs. They offer classes and retreats that integrate psychotherapy, creative arts therapies, mind-body practices, meditation, breathwork, and a deep connection to nature. Founder Esther Kalaba has worked in the mental health field for over 20 years as a registered psychotherapist, art therapist, breathing instructor, and health and wellness consultant, and she sees creativity, connection and community as essential antidotes to a growing mental health crisis.
The Seed Lodge is nestled on 56 acres of forest and farm, featuring scenic trails, organic and medicinal gardens, outdoor gathering spaces, and art and music studios, and can accommodate up to 20 guests. Their Spring 2025 offerings include a writing residency, art therapy retreats, singing classes, and their signature courses, “Begin with Breath” and “Nervous System First Aid Kit”.
Whether you’re looking to connect and recharge, are a practioner interested in leading a retreat, or are an investor with some “SEED” money to help The Seed Lodge grow, they would love to hear from you. Find out more at https://theseedlodge.com, or give them a call at 514-467-9821.
The BMCC would like to give special thanks to our sponsors Town of The Blue Mountains, BDC – Business Development Bank of Canada, Community Futures South Georgian Bay, The Monarch & Co. and Scandinave Spa Blue Mountain for helping make this event possible. We can’t wait for next year!
