2024 Chamber Billboard Schedule & Guidelines

2024 Chamber Billboard Information
The Chamber billboard rental periods will be available to reserve in 2024 on the following schedule:
Dec 1, 2023, 9am — Accepting bookings for January, February and March 2024
March 1, 2024, 9am — Accepting bookings for April, May and June 2024
June 3, 2024, 9am — Accepting bookings for July, August and September 2024
Sept 2, 2024, 9am — Accepting bookings for October, November and December 2024
Don’t worry – reminders will be sent out as each date approaches.
Rental periods run from Wednesday-Wednesday. Each side of the billboard has 6 lines, with a maximum of 18 characters per line. The billboard is located outside of the Chamber building on Hwy 26 in Thornbury.
Bookings will be accepted via email at on a first-come-first-serve basis, starting at 9am on the day that each of the four rental periods open up. Please do not submit reservation requests prior to 9am on the day that the respective rental periods become available, as requests received at or after 9am will be given first priority. We will, of course, happily take bookings any time after those dates as availability allows. To make sure that everyone has a chance to get the dates that they want, we have capped the maximum number of rental weeks that a member can reserve at two per quarter, for a maximum of 8 rental weeks per year. Bookings for consecutive weeks are not permitted, but members can book both sides of the billboard for a rental week.
The weekly rate for 2024 is $200 + HST per side ($125 + HST for not-for-profit members). To guarantee your rental weeks, payment must be received within 7 days of the day that the reservation is made. If payment is not received within that time frame, the rental dates will become available again. Please note that refunds will not be available, except under emergency circumstances, such as pandemic lockdowns or other public health measures.
We hope this doesn’t seem overly-complicated; our aim is to make things easier and more equitable for everyone in the long run. Thank you for your understanding!
The Fine Print:
Payment
- The billboard is for the exclusive use of BMCC members. If a renter has failed to pay their 2024 membership fees before one week prior to the beginning of their rental period, the booking will be forfeited without a refund. (Rental weeks prior to the 2024 invoices going out in early January are, of course, excepted.)
- Payment in full must be received within 7 days of the member receiving their rental invoice, or within 24 hours if reservation is made less than 7 days in advance.
- If payment is not received within the stated time period the reservation will be forfeited and the rental week will be made available again.
- Payment is non-refundable, except in the case of public health restrictions or other factors beyond the Chamber’s control.
- If a member has booked and paid but will not use the billboard, they can choose a not-for-profit member to donate the billboard space to (provided the specific not-for-profit has not booked the billboard the week before or after) up to 48 hours prior to the reserved date.
Content
- The billboard can fit up to 6 lines, with a maximum of 18 characters per line.
- Content cannot refer to any business other than the member, but can be a personal message or promotion of event not related to the business.
- Content must be received at least 48 hours in advance of the beginning of the reserved week, or within 24 hours of making reservation if made less than 48 hours in advance.
- If content is not provided in accordance with the timelines above, or contains unacceptable content, the reservation will be forfeited without refund, and the Chamber may use the billboard or donate the week to a not-for-profit member.
- Content is subject to the sole discretion of the Chamber; any defamatory or rude content, or content regarding any other business, or content containing any person’s name or information without their express consent, will not be permitted. The Chamber will advise the member of an unacceptable content submission at least 48 hours prior to the applicable week and the member will have one (1) opportunity to resubmit new content within 24 hours of the Chamber notification. Subsequent failure to provide appropriate content, as described above, and at the sole discretion of the Chamber, will result in a forfeit of the reservation and no refund will be provided.
