New Member Spotlight: ODEN

It’s our pleasure to introduce another new member to the Blue Mountains Chamber of Commerce, the Ontario Disability Employment Network (ODEN).
The Ontario Corporate Training Centre (OCTC) is a project that operates across the province, organized by the Ontario Disability Employment Network (ODEN). Its goal is to provide businesses in Ontario with research-informed training, resources, and services. They promote strength-based collaborations and transform the employment landscape for individuals with disabilities. ODEN works with businesses to enhance their Inclusion & Diversity efforts, increase hiring and retention, improve disability awareness and confidence, and link businesses to local job seekers. Find out more about the important work they do at https://www.odenetwork.com
October is National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM), and you can get involved through the Light It Up! For NDEAM campaign. This is an annual, nationwide event that happens on the third Thursday of October. On the night of October 16, ODEN invites everyone to light up your homes, businesses or offices with purple and blue lights to show your support. Participation has steadily grown in communities across Canada, sparking ongoing engagement and conversation about disability-inclusive hiring between job seekers, families, community organizations, businesses and local governments.
