International Women’s Day 2022 Event
On March 8, 2022 the Blue Mountains Chamber of Commerce was delighted to co-host an International Women’s Day Networking and Panel Discussion evening with the Town of the Blue Mountains. This packed event was held at Georgian Peaks Ski Club and we were so glad to see so many new and familiar faces — what a turnout!
The evening began with drinks, appetizers, and live music by Karla Crawford, followed by a panel discussion with local business women, representing 6 key sectors in our area. Making up the panel were Barb Weeden, Executive Director for Events for Life, a Not-For-Profit day program for special needs adults; Casey Thomson, owner and founder of The Cheese Gallery in Thornbury; Karen Ferri, owner of T&K Ferri Orchards, third generation apple farmers in the Blue Mountains; Marla Simon, of the Lifestyles North Real Estate Team, one of the top selling real estate teams in Canada for Royal Le Page; Mylisa Henderson, co-owner of Scandinave Spa Blue Mountain and passionate advocate for local tourism; and Nicole Paara, who brings over a decade of marketing and event experience to her role as Co-Owner/Operator at Bruce Wine Bar in Thornbury. The discussion was moderated by Town Councilwoman Paula Hope, and was followed by a lively Q&A session, where the audience had a chance to share their own experiences and insights.
Thank you so much to the panel for your huge contribution, and to everyone who attended and helped make this event a wild success! Special thanks to Property Valet for generously donating the evening’s raffle prize, a night’s stay at one of their luxury Blue Mountain Village vacation properties. A very special thanks to Julie Card and MyCollingwood.ca for all of the great photographs. We can’t wait to see everyone at our next event!
