Grey Bruce Yellow Zone Regulations

Grey Bruce Now in Yellow Zone
On February 16, 2021 the Ontario Stay-At-Home Order was lifted, and the Grey Bruce Region was moved into the Yellow Zone of the provincial re-opening framework. The details of this framework, and of what each colour zone means, are provided here:

The Grey Bruce Public Health Unit, in conjunction with the Town of the Blue Mountains, hosted a virtual information session this morning in order to outline the region’s re-opening guidelines, and to give local businesses a chance to ask questions. Points of interest arising from the session include:
- Private gathering are limited to a maximum of 10 people indoors, and 25 people outdoors.
- Limits on commercial capacity are dependent on each business’ ability to keep customers/ patrons a minimum of 2 metres (or 6 feet) apart.
- Restaurants must space each table 2 metres apart, or separated by an impermeable barrier, with a maximum of 6 people per table.
- Gym classes can have a maximum of 11 participants (1 instructor + 10 patrons), and everyone must stay 3 metres apart. All other workout activities require 2 metres of distancing from others.
- In the Yellow zone, all customers/ patrons must provide contact tracing information, and undergo passive screening, while all staff must undergo active screening. Passive screening must include the following questions: i) Have you travelled anywhere outside of Canada? ii) Are you feeling unwell or experiencing any symptoms (ie. fever, headache, respiratory difficulty, coughing) iii) Have you been in close contact with anyone considered at high risk for infection? Active screening must involve the above questions, as well as a sign-in and temperature check upon entering the establishment.
- Masks are mandatory in the Grey Bruce Region, with some exceptions: https://www.ontario.ca/page/face-coverings-and-face-masks#section-1
- While the Grey Bruce Public Health Unit is enforcing minimum requirements for re-opening, businesses that choose to implement additional safety policies have that right, and have the support of the Grey Bruce Public Health Unit in doing so.
- Businesses should update, display and promote (on site, on their website, on social media, etc.) their COVID-19 Safety Plan so patrons are aware of each establishments’ regulations.
The Town of the Blue Mountains has developed an excellent resource for businesses, residents and visitors at Explore Blue
