Shirley Valentine runs April 21–25 at The Marsh Street Centre in Clarksburg, presented by Theatre Collingwood.
Written by Willy Russell, the beloved one-woman play tells the story of Shirley, a middle-aged Liverpool housewife who feels trapped in the monotony of everyday life. Through witty monologues and candid reflections, she shares her frustrations, dreams, and long-buried desires with the audience.
When Shirley spontaneously travels to Greece, the experience becomes transformative. Away from routine and expectations, she discovers freedom, confidence, and a renewed sense of adventure.
Performed by Sarah Quick, this intimate production blends humour, honesty, and heart, inviting audiences to laugh, reflect, and celebrate Shirley’s journey of self-discovery.
