If you love to provide care and support to individuals who may have physical, cognitive, emotional and behavioral challenges and their families, you may be interested in signing up for the personal support worker program. This two-semester program prepares students through in-class and placement training to learn the knowledge and skills to best provide support services to people living at home.

As well, students can now earn a diploma in Practical Nursing without giving up their current jobs through the part-time practical nursing program starting winter 2018. This program at South Georgian Bay campus is aimed at residents with busy lives looking to earn the credential, but cannot easily travel out of town for classes. Graduates of the Practical Nursing diploma can become employed as a Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) upon successful completion of the licensing exam through the College of Nurses of Ontario.

Learn more about Georgian College and the programs we offer on Feb. 21, 2017. Between 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. Drop in to talk to our staff about the programs on at Georgian College’s South Georgian Bay campus including the upcoming Part-time Practical Nursing program starting January 2018 and Personal Support Worker program starting May 2017.  If you are interested, please let us know by calling 705-445-2961 or emailing southgeorgianbay@georgiancollege.ca.

Not sure if you meet the requirements for a program you want to take. Academic and Career Preparation is offered in Collingwood and Wasaga Beach to help you accelerate your success. This is a tuition free program provided through Employment Ontario to help students achieve the necessary requirements for entry into college programs, apprenticeships and jobs requiring Grade 12 equivalency. For questions, comments and concerns about Academic and Career Preparation please call 705-445-2961 ext. 2911.
